We would always recommend hiring a local solicitor (Advocate) in Northern Cyprus when deciding to buy a North Cyprus property. They will be able to guide you through the whole process. There are many reputable advocates in Cyprus, including those recommended by the British Residents Association here in Northern Cyprus. The advocate’s role is to advise you, provide you with checks on the company you are buying from, to apply for your permissions to buy a property in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus as a foreigner. Foreigners will be approved with a few checks, such as a criminal record check. Also your advocate can act as your Power of Attorney in your absence, confirming title deeds and government documentation to ensure a proper Contract of Sale is made between Buyer and Seller that works for you.
