The main currency of North Cyprus is the Turkish Lira although Sterling, Euros and Dollars are widely accepted on larger purchases (rather than in a small village shop buying bread!)
All property purchases are conducted in Pounds and the contracts will be drawn up in Sterling. The Turkish Lira fluctuates daily so keep an eye out. It is probably wise not to change your money until you arrive in North Cyprus as you will get a better exchange rate here.
